    Which camera should I buy?

Hey all I am new to the forum and would like some help finding a camera for me, well actually I am buying it for my brother, he is into all kinds of different artsy type stuff and needs a camera, so my question is what should I buy him?? I know nothing about cameras or what would be best, Id like to purchase it from Amazon dot com and Id like to keep it in the $150-$175 range but will gladly bump up to $200 if its really worth it. So anyways theres my question, hopefully one of you can help me, thanks in advance!

Re: Which camera should I buy?

You have to find out wither you brother is going to use mainly for landscape, wildlife, or portraits, as unless you get a used SLR with a set of lenses. Landscape & Architectural you want wide-angle lens(the cameras zoom starts wide), for wildlife you need long lenses (zoom ends at equivalent 400mm or longer), portraits a fast lens with F2 or faster at equivalent 75 to 90mm range. As it's unlikely to find a camera with will fill all these specs. Also if evening or indoor sports you need long fast lens which are only available in SLR's and these lenses new start about $800.00
