Camera around the neck - unofficial thread

What happens when the auto-timer is set for a photo every few seconds ... and the camera is fitted on the car with a sucker mount.
Yes, there were lots of boring photos too

    Hey Paul!

What a snappy idea! pun intended....

You got a few interesting shows there. The car in the side mirror is centered just right. How on earth does that work?

it takes photos of set intervals. i.e. every 5 seconds. It would be fun for remote sports photography where its too dangerous to put a DSLR>

    No guts no glory.....

You want a dangerous place to shoot, try the Indianapolis Speedrome during the 3 Hour World Figure 8 championship and shoot right on the wall between turns 1 and 2. Now thats a rush!

Nice job SW....hmmm, maybe I could put in one of the cars at the Speedrome

Nice shots and a great idea.

Now to get the mounts which support a Pro 1

Re: Camera around the neck - unofficial thread

Roger, I use the Culmann mounts; picked up some spares from the Focus on Imaging show in Birmingham. I think I have their busienss card still.
Holds anything from the 20D and 10-22 down.
    Haven't dared try it with a 1D...

    Tyson - yep, it's a de Lorean.

Brent this is all P&S work
Top night image - Sony Mavica (yet the floppy disk camera!)
Others the much lamented Casio 3600 twist body (like some of the Nikon coolpix) which although only 3MP was small enough to live in my pocket and got me some great shots. Now in pieces in a bag after being dropped for the 3rd time.

Today I'd be using the Minolta A1 or A2, they are my "expendable" cameras that I don't mind mounting on the outside of the car.

Liz, it's a technique known as cheating
For the car shot I used the remote release gaffer taped to the gear lever, instead of random intervals. I got fed up of missing so many shots !
The landscape one was a happy random chance, as was the night shot.
