    broken cameras and lenses

    Hi,
I'm not really sure where to put this, so I'm just going to post it in the general forum. If its not the right place, I apologize and moderators can feel free to move it. What I am looking for are broken cameras and lenses. I picked up sports photography for a senior project at my high school, and I have to present towards the end of may. For my display, I would like to have a disassembled modern SLR body along with possibly a disassembled lens. I really am a perfectionist when it comes to displays, so I am working as hard as I can to make mine the best looking display out there when it comes time to present, and I think these would make a great addition to my display, sort of a "how a camera works" kind of thing, or it would just be cool. Does anyone know where I can get a broken SLR or lenses cheap? I looked on ebay, but only found 2 modern SLR bodies that weren't over 100 dollars. I was actually expecting more. I'm just looking for like a broken canon rebel or something along those lines. Doesn't have to be canon. Does anyone have anything that I could pay you for (keep in mind I don't have all that much money at the moment) or does anyone know of good places that I could find these items? Thanks.

Ebay is probably still the best bet. I've seen all kinds of trashed equipment from time to time. There's also KEH's As-Is section too.

Try also looking for other makes like zenit or praktica etc... and sold 'As Is' as they are good looking SLRs and really cheap, including all the lenses you can find for them.
