The Blue Santa Just Came!! Or What I Replaced My Nikon Gear With...

    The Blue Santa Just came!
In his bag, just for me was a brand new Bessa R2A, complete with 25, 35 and 75mm lenes!
I have a picture of it and will post more later....

    The Pictures......

This first pic is of the box it all came in after I had gone through it, I had it sent to my work.
There was a box for the body, each lens, two screw to Leica M Mount adapters, a lens hood for the 35mm lens and the camera strap...

    Later At Home.....

    Here it is!
The lens on it is the 25mm, it's the slowest of the trio, coming in at f/4, the others are a bit faster at f/2.5.
That wierd looking thing in the hot shoe is a view finder for the 25mm lens.
Rangefinder cameras are only able to have use certain lenes through their regular viewfinders, anything above or below that range, 28, 35, 50 and 75 in the case of this particular camera, requires a viewfinder like this. You'll see them for wider and longer lenes.

Works better with the lens cap off! Merry Christmas and hope you really enjoy rangefinding.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with that true wide angle 25!

You sold all your Nikon gear for this?

While I don't really understand why, I accept that this is what you felt was right for you.

Rest assured the Nikon Samuari's still love you, and we know you will return from the dark side...

How exciting. I have found that the more basic and no-frills the equipment, the more thoughtful and careful a photographer I become. Your Holga images have shown that you are capable of this as well and I expect that your new gear will enhance your abilities and creativeness. I look forward to seeing what direction your work takes...

All joking aside - because you are no longer looking through the lens, it is perfectly possible to take pictures with the lens cap on and not know it until afterwards and you'll remember those images as being some of the greatest you've ever (nearly) captured!

May you find the best light.
