    bent AND twisted

It's been busy and tedious. Then this happened when a mason just HAD to get the guide holes drilled for a marble facade. I saw the bit wiggling in the hammer drill before it 'solidified' again. Probably hit rebar. Sometime later after it cooled down about two-thousand degrees (this WAS hardended steel with a titanium transfer coat) I had to get a photo. There's an image of what one of these bits after normal use is supposed to look like for reference. As I said, it been a boring few days. . .

WOW !! That is reiculous that a mason would not notice the bit heating up that much!

That reminds me, I need a drill bit to drill through my new floor to mount the pedistal sink this weekend ;)

You'd think it would about rip the drill right out of his hands! He'll be feeling that one tomorrow. I broke a jackhammer bit a long time ago. I don't think I stopped shaking for about a week.

    Re: bent AND twisted

My careless techniques have dulled and ruined a few bits, but nothing to compare to this. Nice catch.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Did the air turn BLUE just after it happened? I would of turn the air blue if it happened to me. Those bits are not all that cheap.

Wow. Now THAT takes some heat! I heated one once to the point that the head split right down the middle. But nothing like that!

    Re: bent AND twisted

There were a few people 'speculating' on how soon a bit would get broken. All bets were off when this happened. It's been a while since I've actually seen something similar occur. Glad this was entertaining!
