    Belated Christmas Portrait

    Taken December 28th.

    My grandson Ryan.

I've been asked repeatedly, "Who took the picture?"

    DUH!

    Talking Well? Tell us!

    There's one in every crowd!

    ;-)

Yes, Ryan is my first grandchild. And for the record, my son was too young to get married, I'm too young to be a grandfather, and Dawn is WAY too young to be a grandmother!

Thank you for the comments my friend!

What kind of camera did you use?

I think that's the most insulting question you can ask a photographer.

Great photo. Really wonderful. I love it. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

    Re: Belated Christmas Portrait

the skin looks a little too saturated, as baby's skin is hard to get to look normal. Try to boost the levels a bit with the skin on a different layer. It's a nice portrait, it just needs a little bit of PS work, because the reds are bleeding as well. I hope you have the original one still.

But non-critique wise, cute kid! I'm sure whoever got the portrait is very happy, and you gotta love those little santa outfits.

Sometimes babies have skin that looks more saturated, but it is normal. I've noticed with smaller, newer babies, they do tend to have richer skin sometimes. Also, the reds aren't bleeding, that's the way velvet textured fabric photographs. I had photographed 9 month old triplets in time for Christmas and they were all wearing green velvet dresses. Pain in the butt.

PS....Hey Speed....I hope this one photo isn't all we get to see. That's one cute babe.

ouch. remind me to never shoot velvet then.

I just commented on the skin because the hands look a different shade than the face.

    I agree!!!

As if the camera made the photo, background, composition, etc.

The photographer just pointed the camera and it did the work!

I'm a little bit late, but congratulations Bob!! You are now a member of the prestigious grandpa/grandma club hehehe. You may feel you're too young, but it's still cool to be a grandpa!! I was in my early 40's when my first grandson was born.

I would be so thrilled to be able to capture a sweet photograph like this. Kinda ala Ann Geddes.

    Thank you Adina!

As for the levels, I looked at it, and the histogram curve goes from one end of the scale to the other. I guess I could play with it some...

In the meantime, Dawn loves it, and has already had 4X6's, 5X7's, and 8X10's made of it to give to family.
