    Back from our mini-vacation

Whenever we are completely worn out from everything that is going on in our daily lives, we pack up, hit the road and spend some time with some family in North Carolina. We left last Tuesday, and got home Sunday morning. Didn't do much shooting, but when I showed them I could hook the camera up to the tv so we could see the pics, I stepped outside to take a few more. The flowers are from the front yard of the place we stay, moutains were everywhere. The vertical one is from the "most photographed view of the smokies". Since I had the 50mm on my camera in a small bag up front, and the other lenses in a backpack in the trunk which had the bike rack on it, I had to compromise. So it may not be the "exact" most photographed view, but that's where it's from.

    One more

This is from the park headquarter area, where we stopped to let the girls burn out some energy.

These are great, Adina ... shows you are quite adept at changing shooting styles. the 50mm worked well for you. :-) The DOF is perfect in your first image, incredible detail in the 2nd, and your last image with your daughter looks like a painting.

    Thanks Charles

We had such a good time while we were down there, and I hardly shot at all. It was so nice to do practically nothing.

Glad you got to let your hair down in the mountains - I love the first flower (second shot) - it's gorgeous and would be equally gorgeous on a wall. Thanks for sharing.

Ya know - I live about 30 minutes from the Great Smoky Mtn National Park and I have yet to shoot photos there. I should really take a day trip and do it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Always nice to get away and do nothing once in awhile ! First shot has really great use of depth of field. We can tell that it's a hat in the background but our eye is led to the plaque which explains why it's there. Clean background too.
