Yes, I've been AWOL. My computer was having "issues" and the IT guys had to switch out my hard drive for a new one. Tons of photo's gone! I've got some on the computer in the conference room (where I had loaded them for backup), but I didn't have everything there. Most of my personal pics are shot with my film camera's and I get a CD burned with every roll, so I've got those. But the personal shots taken with the Coolpix 5700 are gone. :-(

Guess I've got to get to work filling up the hard drive again!

Great article Speed. I was just reading about this on the NPR website and was about to post the link. This one has audio with it. It's an interview with National Geographic photog and former Ansel Adams assistant, Chris Rainier.

There must be something in the water. You, Penny, and a co-worker all within a short time. Oh yeah, 3,000 miles separates us all... ;)

That was a very intersting event. I had seen something about it on one of the news mag show. Nice to see you back. Now how about some photos.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Cool. Thanks for the link. I love it when two of my hobbies (photography and astronomy) come together. The link with Ansel Adams is so classic.

I've been hiding in the real world. Major computer problems kept me out of the land of internet. Got a new hard drive now, got PS Elements reloaded, but Nikon View is still giving me fits. Got the IT guy coming over to reload it. Hopefully, he will put a CD burner in my computer as well. :-)

Lost some photo's when the hard drive went belly up, so I've got to get out and shoot some new stuff. Got some Hurricane Ophelia shots I'll be posting in the nest few days. Nothing compared to what Katrina did to New Orleans, not by a long shot, but a couple of restaurants fell into the sound, and a lot of docks were totalled.

    Hey Chunk!

Yes, Ophelia blew things around. Personally, we weren't hurt by it. A bunch of leaves and pine straw in the yard with a mess load of small branches. A pain to clean up, but no damage.

Over on the sound though, there was quite a bit of erosion. Most every dock was damaged or destroyed, and several restaurants and homes were undermined. But compared to what Katrina did, we got off easy.

Coming soon buddy! I had a hard drive transplant, and the IT guys have been installing Nikon View, PS Elements, etc., on my computer. I'm finally back up, so the photo's should start back up in a few days.
