    Re: Another 50mm f1.8 Thread

Oh, this is odd. I just noticed after posting the above image that I can actually see my reflection in the horse's eye and the flash going off on my 550ex.

We have a self portrait thread going somewhere her on Viewfinder. This one is definitely a candidate for it.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Took a while to find this thread.

Here's one from yesterday. Shot with the Canon $80 version.

    Re: Another 50mm f1.8 Thread

Every time I see an image like this I wonder why I let that little cheat lens spend so much time in the bottom of the camera bag and not attached to a body ready for action. Nice one Loupey.

    Re: Another 50mm f1.8 Thread

    Thanks, OT.

While raking, my daughter found some acorns so I attached a 12mm extension tube behind the same 50mm f/1.8 and took this.

Does it still count if I use a tube?

It counts and is still another reason we should all carry one at all times.

    Re: Another 50mm f1.8 Thread

My daughter and I went for some hot chocolate and coffee last night while waiting to pick up my son at the fitness center. I happened to have my 50mm mounted (no, really!) so I took a quick grab shot - bad ambient lighting and all.

    Uncropped and shot wide open.

Saw this one of the dog in the leaves in the gallery first! Very good shot. Did you have to bury the pup or did it graciously help you out on its own by sitting in deep leaves?

    A great fall choice.
