    Another 50mm f1.8 Thread

I went looking for our old 50mm thread and struck out. So I figured it was about time to start a new one. Here is an available light ISO 400 shot of my grandson Wesley Sunday morning with the 50mm f1.8 set at 1/40 and f1.8. For a very inexpensive lens it does a great job. Feel free to post up some of your 50mm f1.8 images in this thread.

PS: Let do amend this thread to the 50mm prime thread. F1.2, f1.4, f1.8 or f2 it doesn't matter lets see the 50mm prime shots.

Nice shot and glad you started a new one. Been thinking about doing some 50mm shots just because.
Maybe the thread could be called the 50mm prime thread??
MB, I think you're using funny money..there aren't any bills with more than 2 zeroes

    Re: Another 50mm f1.8 Thread

I'll play... but at f1.4... My pops old Pentax SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4, cheapo eBay chipped m42 adapter for focus confirm and SSS functionality.

Lens has heavy yellow cast typical of these older radioactive beauties, so I'm still learning how to properly adjust WB... First one is corrected, second is not... Yellow tinting somehow works for me in the second shot though.. All shots available light, tungsten based...

I'm loving what you guys are throwing up! Keep them coming. I may even have to drag out the Pentax H1a and the 50mm to add to the thread.

Does this count? It was shot with a 50mm f1.8, reversed on a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens with 68mm or extension tubes.

Lord Mike! You do go through a bit of creative work to get what you want. I'd say it counts as it was the end lens through which all the light had to pass to get to the sensor.
Now what the heck is it?

    Nice stuff everyone.

I'll play - been a while since I had used mine. Last weekend we went to Fright Fest at 6 Flags. I brought the 50mm only and my SB600 triggered with the D300 off camera with a red gel on it for shot 2, the wife was holding the flash low and left of camera. Shot 1 was just the 50mm and shot earlier in the day.
