Axle, who were they? Do you know, or is all semblance of their existence gone except for these ruins that you have so nicely portrayed here...

Thanks! The company was Sykes Datatronics, they started in the 1970s and lasted until the mid-1990s before declaring bankruptcy protection, and folded up the competition from larger companies too great.

The Building itself is much older, as shown by the use of fluted columns in the architecture, that style says early 20th century. But I haven't been able to find anything else about the building.

Thanks for the info. Don't recognize the name, but it is always a shame to see Canadian companies die from an inability to change and that really was the watchword of the '70s, '80s' and '90s (still is today)...the inability to change with the times and the requirements of a rapidly changing market can be just deadly for any business. It is the old case of evolution applied to business - Adapt or Die - not everyone was able to adapt.

A shame to see American companies go under too.
You do seem to be able to find these abandoned buildings.
Do you ever watch Life After People on the history channel?
Stuff doesn't last long after its abandoned.

I like #4 of the original set.

I have been wondering if you take any special precautions for airborne particles, especially asbestos. Some of the old buildings that you have shot in the past look to be from that era (pre-asbestos-cleanup).

I used to, I don't anymore. It's hard to compose a shot using a viewfinder, while wearing a mask.
