Thumbs up It Ain't Sports! Les Miserables

Well tonight I had a different type of shoot for a paper. The athletes at the school who know me were just as confused as I was about my job tonight

It was different for me but I think it went OK. Especially the shot with video being shown. I metered off the bed and it worked out surprisingly well.

    JS,

Great shots and definitely a classic piece of theatre. Always enjoyed the show.

    Well done and great shots!

    Thanks Jar_e,

I found out today the paper liked them so much they did a whole page instead of a half page! I guess I did OK with my first play shoot. All of these shots (from both of my posts here) and others were used. I'm surprised, especially since the publisher called and said "I didn't think you'd pull it off, guess I was wrong...nice job".
5 years shooting for this paper and it's the first time he has ever said a word to me.

You are getting way to versatile John. Next thing you know they will asign you to a fashion show right in the middle of the football playoffs.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Heh, Larry you scoundrel. LOL jk, you're a sweetheart.

These photos are great!! It looks that the cast are very much into Les Miz, my all time favorite play. I can tell in every photo, which scene and which songs are being sung. Nice work!

DOH! that won't happen OT! lol. In fact, if things work out right I'll be shooting the entire football season for a new publication and not the paper (pay is better too!). Although there is some rumblings that certain people at the paper want to hire me FT due to overworking the one staffer. It all depends on some things that are going on their now though, including adding as many as 3 or 4 weekly papers. Things could get interesting this summer.

    Thanks OT, Lara and Jar_e.
Now I have to get ready to go shoot a baseball game

Wow! What a great job. These are awesome images. I'm so glad you got a good word from your boss. Your composition is right on. Excellent.

Thanks for sharing these. One of my favorite plays.

Re: It Ain't Sports! Les Miserables

    Thank you Liz.

FYI - I used the 1D MKII N with Standard Picture Style and a Canon 28-300mm USM IS Lens. I was shooting from the back of the auditorium. I was really happy with how the lens performed in the lighting I had to work with.
