    Addiction Taken Too Far

Drove to a small town diner this weekend for dinner. Since we live in a large city which has a no smoking policy in all public places including restaurants and bars, we were taken aback by this sign.

We laugh, but a woman here in Boston last year had to be extinguished after she was trying to light a cigarette with her O2 mask on! She survived the incident with some pretty bad burns to her face, if I remember correctly. What goes through someone's head: "hmm, I have supplemental oxygen because i'm already suffering from emphasyma... one cigarette can't hurt." ??

Generally, addicts don't consider consequences. That's one of the symptoms of addiction. You can't try to look their behaviour rationally. It's not rational.
