    2009 photo resolutions

My resolution is now met as I had just resolved to start the 2009 resolutions thread so Susan doesn't have to dig back for the 2008 ones.

    Re: 2009 photo resolutions

My primary 2009 photography resolution is to put time for photography in my weekly schedule this year. Actually this is a "ditto" from last year.

My 2nd photography resolution is to keep my resolution.

    Re: 2009 photo resolutions

My resolution is to stop making resolutions/promises that I know I'll never keep. So, with that in mind my resolution for this year was to continue being the best person I possibly can and to keep the photography passion going.

    Re: 2009 photo resolutions

This one sort of started in October really but will happen, hopefully this year. I unofficially judged an internal camera club competition in late September and following on from that I chatted with the person who organises the accreditation of judges at county level. I have a preliminary evening on the 16th of this month along with 4 or 5 other candidates (including overbeyond from this forum!)

If that goes OK there will be a course and assessment organised a little later in the year.

I won't ever have the time to do all that much - but it's a helpful way of getting your face and name known around the camera club circuit and who knows what might arise from that?

I suppose my resolution in this is to see it through and get enough bookings from clubs to build up a little experience.

    Cheers
    Mike

To learn to take a legitimately good photograph. To have fun doing that.

EDIT: To slap together a half-decent website.

    Re: 2009 photo resolutions

Mine isn't pure photography, but certainly photo-related. I'm terrible at backing up my RAW files and photo artwork on disc. I kept up with it for a while, but now have hundreds of gigs of files on external HDs but not backed up on disc.

I know this is going to come back to haunt me at some point, so one of my main workflow goals for this new year is to budget time on a regular basis to burn backup discs...

Ah, OT don't beat yourself up over this. :mad2:

Advanced features of cameras are overrated. I've probably used less than 10% of the features on my DSLRs, and I don't feel that my work suffers at all...

    Still, it's a noble goal...

Mine are almost the same from last year.
Take my cameras out more both the XTi and S1 IS.
Take more shots that I hope to produce better pictures
Help out my gf with learning my cameras as well as hers.
Listen to more of my 2-channel vinyl setup.
Learn more about my Photoshop Elements 6.0
Also decide on a new lens 24-70 or 24-105
And try to be a better if not the same person that I have always been, in regards to family and friends.

Mine is to lose weight so that I look good in photos!

Also, to learn more about metering/flash/lighting to the point where I trust my own decisions so I can get away from the auto features of the camera.

    Re: 2009 photo resolutions

I have had my resolutions written down, but wanted to post them here to make them official.

    1. I would like to loose some weight. My goal is 200 lbs.
    2. I want to purchase the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens
    3. I want to make contact with and make a sale to a magazine, or other publishing company
    4. I want to participate in the Driftless Area Art Festival Again this year
    5. I want to show my work in a gallery this year
    6. I want to say NO when people ask me to take indoor portraits
    7. I want to get caught up on my reading

I'm off to a good start. I'm sending in my application to reserve a spot at the Driftless Area Art Festival very soon. Since I was a vendor last year, I don't have to be jurried this year.

I just found out today that 3 of my photos have been selected to be part of a group show at a gallery. The show starts on February 4th. Also, I currently have some of my work on display in my church.

Took a while,I had to think about what was important, here goes-

1-Master my Sony, buy first DSLR. (Finally make up my mind which one)
    2-Shoot EVERY day,come rain or shine,no excuses.Have fun with it.(Relax)
3-Learn to direct people in photos, not to let the reverse happen !
    (Mis,re 6) -I feel that !)
4-Get back on track with fitness,to improve balance, stamina while shooting.
