You know you did something right when...

You know you did something right when the editor (sports or otherwise) gets the byline from your photo  This has been happening a lot lately, both in the sports department and news department. This one was from last nights wrestling match and it was senior night.

Re: You know you did something right when...

I'll admit I laughed when I opened the paper and saw this, I didn't expect them to run this one as they were after stuff of another wrestler, which they also ran, and will run next week in a staory on him.

Hey Chase1234life.... your around the corner from me, welcome to the forum! And thanks for the comments everyone. I posted this for the others who shoot for papers so they could get an idea of how your photo can also be the byline.

Unfortunately, the sports editor at one of my papers isn't that creative. Usually, if anything like that happens one of us (as in photogs) puts it in as a cutline and she just copies it over. A bigger paper with more savy editors would be nice sometimes. Nice job once again JS!

lol, I know what you mean dh, but for a small paper these guys look to find something in the story or photos to get the byline, on occasion the photos get the nod. The very first time I shot for this paper I gave them the byline "EH Smokes Triton Central" as smoke from a hog roast covered the field  It was so bad the officials told them they had to stop the hog roast at halftime....so the fog moved in!

Neat image and give the editor a little pat on the back.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
