    Working on Bball

Hey everyone...! Just started to post here, but really enjoying the site. I've been working on basketball photos, but been having a little bit of trouble. Here's a photo I took last week. To me it seems a little out of focus, and a bit grainy...just looking for some advice.

    I used a D30 with a 50mm lens...ISO 1600...f/1.8...1/250 sec.

    Thanks,

    Johnny

The image is a tad soft as well as a bit loose. I'd also prefer to see more of the player's face in the image instead of him from the side/rear. Try positioning yourself on the baseline a few feet to the right side of the basket.
