Why I've been so busy lately (lots of baseball photos)

I must say, the life of a student can be hard, especially here in Silicon Valley where everything & anything is expensive. So I've been working two jobs, one that is ok and the other that I love. On top of that I've got about 3 semesters before I can graduate from the JC I'm at & move on to a university. So life has been very hectic the past month or so.

I've been shooting LOTS of baseball & softball the past few weeks, which means I've been working job #1 during the day, then riding my bike to job #2 that afternoon, shooting for a few hours, then riding back home. Turns out to be about a 14 mile ride round trip, which isn't too bad. Until I need to pack my D2h, 70-200, 2x converter, extra batteries, cards, everything else I need on my back for the trip.

On to the good stuff, here are my favorites that I've shot so far:

We start off with a little T-Ball to get the blood flowing

They may be young, but they have determination (Still debating around the added vignetting on some of these)

A montage of photos sorta showing the flow of the game
Pitcher decides what to throw & throws the ball

Batter swings & hits the ball (Not this time though)

Ball bounces to the shortstop, who fields it nicely

Who then tosses it to the second baseman

But its too late, especially since the 2nd baseman drops the ball, and the runner slides in safely

    A few more random shots

    Line drive to the SS

    Safe!

Number two and the line drive to the SS are just great. Looks like you got some very nice actions shots. As for the vignetting, I didn't notice until you pointed it out. Sounds like your a busy guy. You think things are hetic now just wait until your married with kids.

These are very nice shots Scott. You've done a great job capturing the different aspects of the game. Nice expressions in them also.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Since we've had a couple new people join asking questions, it made me look back at where I was 3 1/2 years ago. I had just picked up a Nikon D70, and trying to figure how to use it. Now I'm lucky enough to be able to use my cameras full time doing something I love.

Then I looked back over some of my first sports photographs, and I cringed
