    Web hosting

Need some advice from you sportsshooters. The web host I currently use has made some changes in how we build our sites and it's now a piece of junk. Looking for suggestions on web hosts that work well for you in best dislaying your sports photography. Any suggestions?

I've been using ExposureManager for about 3 years. Low annual fee and unlimited space were big reasons and the lab prints are top notch.

I looked at your site and at the bottom it says powered by GoDaddy.com Is Exposure Manager your photo service? I'm looking for a webhosting service.

Oh, sorry. Yes I use GoDaddy to host the main page and then link to EM for the galleries. They've been easy to use and reasonable for fees. I just need to get one of my daughters to rework my page since that isn't my favorite thing.

Is it pretty user friendly to design your own page, add photos and text, etc. or does everything have to be written in html or whatever that goofy language is? I'm a dork when it comes to programming so I'm looking foir a template-oriented web host where designing it will be pretty easy.

I am very happy with SmugMug. The pro subscription allows full customization and the cost is great. I have not ordered any prints yet to see how they come out... but I have heard they are great.

GoDaddy is friendly for every type of user. They have templates to build a site for folks like you and I and you can also upload your own stylesheets, use HTML, etc. It took me about an hour to set up mine initially. I also got my domain name from them. Very easy as well.

I'll probably go with them but I have to go through the domain name transfer process.

    Re: Web hosting

I designed and built my two photography websites using GoDaddy's Website Tonight program and I use Exposure Manager as my online store for both my sites. I have made quite a few sales through EM and I have not received a single complaint about the prints from any of my customers.

Check out the links in my signature to see my sites and my store.

Btw, a site I designed and built for my family's company is one of the four featured sites on GoDaddy. Here is a link:

If you go with GoDaddy and you need help, be sure to check out this page:

Echoing smugmug. I've used them for quite a few years. You can do a simple setup and be running in nothing flat. You also can customize it to make it anything you wish. One of the things I love most is they walk you thru step by step on their forums with help customizing your site.

Another big plus is the customer service they give to the people who purchase my photos. They handle it all. It's wonderful.
