Sometimes things just do not go as planned, and it's seemed that way for Greenfield Central High School's football team for the past 21 games. They got their last win Oct 22 2004, and during that time they lost 7 or 8 games by a touchdown or less. The times were really tough last year, they got a new coach to hopefully turn things around. They improved but couldn't get a win on the field. They did get a win in the record books, but it was a forfiet due to an opponent using an ineligable player for 1 play, and the scoreboard showed they lost on field. Then they lost a dear classmate last October. The day of his viewing they lost a teammate, who was best friends with the former classmate. He died on his way home from the viewing.
One thing was appropriate Saturday night as the Cougar teammates watched the clock hit zero to get that first win in 21 games, they just beat the very team that gave them the first loss in that streak, better yet, they did as the visitors..
The first photo was the play that turned the game around, a sack that fired the defence up. The rest are the celebration that followed the game.
