    Varsity soccer

Some snaps of the first soccer game this season. This stadium has the worst lighting in the conference as they only have four light standards to cover the entire field. I thought my shots were a tad soft so I either left the IS off or I shouldn't be drinking all that cough syrup before I shoot.

They can be but with practice you can get pretty good at it. There are alot of good shooters on here. Look at their work and watch for examples as you can get some good ideas. A good piece of advice which comes from most photo editors is to fill the frame, have clean backgrounds, get faces and faces with emotions are even better. Best of luck!

Night games are always rought, especially on these high school fields. You have some great glass for it though.

This is a personal preference, but on your first two shots I would have cropped them a bit tighter getting rid of the grass along the bottom. These look like they can be sooc as far as the framing.

Thanks. I thought of that but I use a 11.68 by 7.787 cropping box and when I tried that I cut too much of the defender out of the frame. Besides, the editor will probably square it off before she prints it.

Thanks for the advice! I've been looking out for photo advice on here that pertains to what I attempt to shoot. Seeing good photos like yours is really encouraging. I've been taking advice from what I see before I consider myself good enough to actually post some of my pictures haha. Thanks again
