Tour de California Stage 3 (7 images)

I had the opportunity to head out to the Tour de California Stage 3 race this afternoon. It was great- my boss emailed me and asked me if I wanted the day off so I can go watch. Yea, like I'm gonna turn down a day of work

So me and a few guys from MTBR rode up one of the big climbs and waited a hundred yards or so before the top of the climb. Here are a few of the images that I was able to get from the race. Hopefully one day I'll get to be on the back of a motorcycle for the entire race













This last one I got after all the racers finished the climb. With the way the race was, we were able to fly down the hill they just climbed, and catch a group or two as they came down a different road

Very, very nice. Great faces! I like the sweaty T-Mobile rider. He must have been freezing on the downhill. Was that at the top of Sierra road? Did you see Francis? My dad was up there, too.

I shot the corner of Calaveras and Peidmont. I am not happy. It was a bummer. Bad decisions on my part. It's going to make a good blog post tomorrow, though.

I heard you were down there, and I started thinking about I should go down there as well since I would have gotten the chance to shoot them twice (I think).

I didn't get a chance to talk to your dad, but I saw him right before we headed down the hill. Francois was talking to him.

I made a few mistakes at the beginning (I changed my autofocus and forgot to change it back) and I was really wishing I could get on the back of a motorcycle and travel with them. Near the top must have been a good spot since 2-3 of the other photogs and a video crew was up there.
