Toseland auction

You may remember my photo of James Toseland's celebration after his podium in the WSB race at Silverstone. Running back to his bike in Socks, Boxers and nothing else.

We were at the Day of Champions today, at Donnington.
Angie got a 10x8 print of my photo signed.
Then donated it to the charity auction.

It raised £75 - does that count as a sale?

That counts as a £75 tax-deductable donation. At least I think it would in the US. Got at least one of those to claim on my 2006 taxes. I gave some photos to IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) for one of their newsletters.

If it had been priced on donation instead of auctioned, then possibly - our tax rules are weird.
Also the charity could have claimed an extra 20% tax back from HM Revenue and Customs through the Gift Aid scheme.
