    Taking a few days off

    Hello Everyone,

I just decided to take a few days away from everything, the past week has been a bit too rough. I was sick all last week, and dealing with that, as well as my parents both having Alzheimers now, and 2 deaths over the past 7 days, it's just taking it's toll.
The first death last Wednesday was rough for many reasons. It was a kid who would have started college this fall. He had battled Lukemia the past year, and was doing much better until late August. He found out about the Lukemia just before soccer season last year, but kept his hopes up that he'd play again. It was really hard to open the paper last week and see a photo of mine on the front page, him in his last soccer game. It was the last photo I took I took of him.
Friday night following his viewing at the school one of his best friends who played both football and soccer died in an accident. Needless to say things at the school are really rough right now. These two were the greatest kids, and practically inseperable. Always willing to give the extra time to talk to anyone, media, or total strangers, and were always straightforward.
Last year in January I asked if he could go visit a girl in the hospital who had just been diagnosed with the same thing and he said "sure", and the next day he went and saw her. Thats just how he was.
Now I need a break. I'll be back in to see the spammers are playing nice (and not playing in this forum) but thats it for a few days. If you need anything check with SmartWombat (I know, he's missing...but it is Halloween, and you know those bats!) or PhotoJohn, and maybe Liven too, if you can't find the other two.

Good decision, JS. Get away from it all for a while, grieve, and clear your head. We'll be waiting.

good to see you're taking some time off and that you realize it will help. Sounds like things are pretty rough right now, like you said. Hope everything turns out alright and that your break will help you out.

Best thing to do is clear your head. You've made the correct decision. We'll still be here when you get back......... and your world will be a better place.

Re: Taking a few days off

Thanks ciddog91. It's been pretty rough around here, especially at the high school. Some of the kids are having a really tough time. The school has counselors on call, and they are getting called daily.
