Surfing: Steamer Lane - Santa Cruz, Ca

My only nitpick is the shadows have a purple over-saturated cast. I'm using a new camera body and laptop now, so that's my only excuse since the settings I used are typically the same as I used to use (if that make any sense).

The concept looks good, but the color/saturation just looks off on them. They don't have that pop that your other photos always have.

Did you make it out to Mavericks this weekend, or decide to not deal with the crowd?

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is on these photos. I'll have to try some more I guess.

I put in for credentials to Mav's and got the email giving the green light for the contest, but I was going to be limited to shooting from shore. Just to give an idea of how far away that is from the break for those who don't know...the popular lens combo was 600 f4 L IS + 1.4x TC and that would give a loose image with room to crop.

    Most photogs on the boats were shooting 70-200 + 2x for decent results or 300 + 1.4 or 400 + 1.4.

I just didn't have long enough glass to shoot from land. I headed to Steamers instead.
