    Sunday Soccer Action

Since the weather wasn't looking too promising this morning to make it worth the drive and admission price for the racing, I decided to stay close to home and shot just one soccer game. I actually caught the end of one game and then shot the complete next game. It was nice and overcast for most of the game which was nice as I could go back to shooting manual and I could also shoot from the North end of the field which gave me a lot of the field to shoot without any distracting background.

Nice captures tadrscin. Their sharp, color looks good and the action is great. I really like the shot you got of the goalie, good timing.

You've got some good captures. The horizons look a little off on a few of the photos though. I have the same problem when I shoot

This is fantastic action! Do you shoot soccer a lot? If not looks like you do!

    Re: Sunday Soccer Action

Thanks guys. Yeah the goalie blocked that shot but he couldn't hold on to the ball. The next shot got by him. That one is on my gallery. Now I see # 5 isn't straight. I don't know how I missed that since the first thing I do in Camera RAW is straighten and crop :blush2:

Thanks Jeta. Sorry I missed your post. It looks like I was working on my other reply when you posted this. Actually, as you've probably already figured out, this is my 3rd try at soccer. I do feel I got a lot more really good action shots than I did the day before.

    Re: Sunday Soccer Action

These are some the best soccer pictures I've seen on PR since Gmen was posting pro British soccer a couple of years ago. Great action, cooperative weather and lighting, a winner all around.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Wow, that's quite a compliment OT. Thanks a lot. I see a lot of his stuff on a different forum and I don't think I'm up to his level, but I'm trying.

    Re: Sunday Soccer Action

Thanks JS. #s 3 & 8 are my favorites. #3 is actually the first in a series of about 7 shots which turned out pretty good. It was one of the few times I just kept the shutter pressed to see what kind of sequence I would get. It was a nice series of the guy working his way down the field.

    Re: Sunday Soccer Action

    Tad,
Personally I am beginning to hate soccer, my timming has been so bad this year with soccer. Football my catch timming has been great, but I just haven't done much with the soccer side of things. These two are from this week.

    Thanks Jimmy.

I don't know JS, but they look like well timed shots to me. Especially the first one.

OK, that would be frustrating. We could always compare our bad shots. I have plenty of those still in my trashcan
