    Steamers in the cold.

Since Mavericks was off, I went down to Santa Cruz to Steamers. There was a crew out there too. It was VERY cold and I was against the light. But managed to snap a few.

Much closer to the action than the other set. Very nice indeed!
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Sweet! I love Steamers. I've never been out early enough for it not to be backlit. I like the photos with the light coming through the waves - those are the winners here for me.

Were you using the 600mm from the cliffs for these or do you climb down to shoot?

Please write a review for the 600mm Nikkor. We don't get many reviews for the supertelephotos. Normal people can't afford them and few people even need them. I think of the Canon and Nikon 600mm lenses as surf lenses. I guess wildlife photographers must use them, too. But they make me think of shooting sirfing from the shore

    Thanks,

I was on the cliff, i started to go down but the angle of the usable area was much worse for lighting. I did use the 600mm f4 with the 1.4x TC. I have only used the lens twice so far. I think I should get more experience with it before writing any reviews.
