Sprint Cars and Late Models

Here are a few photos from Saturday's races at Eastbay Raceway (Tampa, FL).

I was shooting from high in the grandstands, so I could clear the frontstretch catch fence. I took these photos using my 300mm f/2.8 lens, using the High-Speed Crop setting on my D2X. These are panning shots using a monopod for support and shooting at a distance of 300 to 350 feet (into the turn 2 area) in challenging light conditions.

While I am still refining my metering / white balance skills, I was pretty happy with the clarity of these photos, although the clay track background does little to complement the photos.
