Sports Illustrated publishes recommended digital SLR settings on their upload site. They have them for the EOS 1D, EOS 1D Mark II, 10D, Nikon D1X, and the Nikon D2H. The 1D suggestions looked pretty good to me and I thought you might appreciate seeing them:
