    Question Freelancing????

So far this board has been very helpful to me, so I will continue to ask for help.

I would like to start shooting photo's for a couple of different companies at soccer and baseball tournaments that I attend. I was wondering if any of you do anything like this, and if you do how do you charge? Is there a standard type fee? Is it better to charge by the photo's that are purchased? I am interested in shooting more and this seems to be the best way I can figure, I will have to be at these tournaments anyway, so kinda of doing killing two birds as they say. I will be contacting the photo companies at these events and offering my services so I would like to have some information so I can be as prepared as possible for what may come.

Any information that you may have and also any things to watch out for would be appreciated.

Once again thanks for all the help on this board!!!!

    Re: Freelancing????

I don't really feel qualified to answer your question, but didn't want this thread to just sit here without a response. Wish JS was around he is our resident freelancer/stringer he can generally give you a pretty good answer to a question like this. He's been MIA for a few days. I tried shooting for another company once at a couple of local sporting event. It just didn't workout for me. They wanted thing in a certain format and style to fit the type packages and formats they were marketing and we just didn't mesh. Besides I was already marketing through my own site and I just prefered to keep it that way. Not much of an answer, but hopefully someone else will chime in with something better.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
