Wink Some BB from the George Taylor Classic

Every year I cover the George Taylor Classic holiday BB tournament here. It's a grueling 2 day tournament with teams from all over the Southeast. Yesterday I shot 8 games with 8 more for today. George Taylor was the coach at the old Central City, KY HS and was one of the winningest coaches of all time with a career record of 439-97 from 1925 until 1942. In his final 16 years, his teams won 20 or more games every season. At the time the schools consolidated in 1990, Central City was the second winningest HS program in the US behind only Centralia, IL. Here's a couple of our North team from their games against Hazel Creek, AL and St. Henry, KY. They won them both handily!

Nice timing on these Daniel. Lots of basketball around the Bluegrass this week. My home team hosted a tourney last weekend. The girls biggie down in Berea and of course the Lex Cath tourney in Lexington always draws the best of the boys in the Bluegrass and beyond during the holidays.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

You always do a great job, as you did here. As you said there is a ton of B-ball action around and if I had time I would be going to grab some up. Keep up the good work

Thanks guys! Holiday tournament time is always one of my busiest times of the year but I love it anyway. To see what these kids can accomplish, especially as I've watched most of them come up through the grades is just amazing. I'm keeping an eye on an eighth grade girl who plays varsity BB and could be one of the best players ever to come out of our area.

That is saying something knowing some of the girls that area and the Stars in particular have produced.
