Soccer in harsh light yet again.

Can't remember the last time I had good lighting for a match. It was over 100 degrees. Any tips on how to handle those heat waves. They seem to distort some of the pics? The camera body was almost too hot to hold and the kids were poring water into their shoes during subs. That's HOT!
