    Skiing with my son

We got some more snow recently and I had the pleasure of taking my eight year old son out for some powder skiing at Monarch.
He's been skiing for longer than he can remember and is just now getting the coordination and power to confidently ski powder. It warms this dad's heart! The last couple of storm cycles he's been improving by leaps and bounds each day we are out. Fun!

These were all shot with a Pentax K-5 and Pentax DA 40mm Limited pancake lens.

Yeah, probably. Light was changing and the first is definitely dark. I think I bumped it to +1 after that but maybe should have done 1.5. We were also in and out of trees and I didn't want to be messing with the camera too much. Histogram was all over the place for different shots. I blew the highlights in some with more trees too.

Looks like a fun time for your son. That snow is tricky, glad they don't play basketball in the snow, those gym light are enough to worry about.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Nice! Nice form in that second photo! The main issue I see is they could be tighter. The exposure is a little dark but it's nothing that can't be corrected in Lightroom or Photoshop

Thanks John. I'm that dad who yells "Hands!" when he skis by...

I was trying to get him to turn closer to me (with just that 40mm prime pancake) but this was about as close as he wanted to be!

Old Timer: Different strokes I guess. I'd rather struggle with snow light than gym light any day!
