    Short Lens

    Merry Christmas All...

A question for the group... I am going to shoot some wrestling and other close up sports and an wondering what len some of you may have for this stuff.. I have my 70- 200 and I have a 50mm, but they are too long on my Canon 30d. I need something that I would be able to use for short distance such as 10 to 30 feet without being limited to shooting part of the body ect...

    Any ideas?????

    Thanks....Phil

    Re: Short Lens

check out a mid-range fast zoom, like the sigma 24-70mm f2.8. I picked one up on ebay for about 300, and I really like it. It's a sharp zoom, with a good range, the focus is just noisy. That's the only downside, I'd say. But also keep in mind that a lot of the times the tighter crops make for the better photos because it just helps to intensify the action and bring it into the living room that much more. good luck.

oh and if you're not into spending that much, check out the tamron 19-35mm. I got one on keh for 90 shipped, then sold it on ebay about a month later for 101 shipped. A little wider, but if you're just looking for a wider lens to get you out of a quick jam, check keh.com
