Settings help?

I have a Canon SX20IS. I want to take some really great shots at my sons hockey game. He is only 5 yrs old so the movement will not be very quick. I am very amature with cameras. What settings are recommended with this camera?

Use the sports setting.
If the lighting is poor you might be out of luck for good photos.
