Hello: went to this years Sea Otter and did my usual photo shoot of the Downhill practices and races (which is my way of not racing and crashing). I was trying to find different types of shots as it is really easy to fall back on the "no brainer / ok photo" rut. Here are some that I like:
Went for the background blur, these were the pros and were really moving through this turn.
On Sunday the fog rolled in for the morning practice, to everybody's sunburn relief. It gave a very different background.

I think this is called showing off for the photographer (If I cannot win it, at least get a good photo for Facebook).
Sometimes a longer lens helps. The sun was absolutely brutal (straight down and harsh).
This is just about where I crashed at about the same speed:
You can guess what happened next (he rode away after). Feet off the pedals and nose down is really bad.
This is sone of my "no brainer / ok photo". Took lots of these, but most of the riders seem to like them.
I totally enjoyed myself and saw and talked with a bunch of people that I only connect with at this event.
Any questions or issues, please feel free to contact me.
Regards
Rick
