    Rough homecoming in many ways

Well tonight I had the same team I had last Saturday that was beaten so bad and the outcome ytonight wasn't much better but at least they scored 28 but allowed 47. And it was homecoming, and for one player it was a really tough homecoming as he wanted to be on the field so bad. He broke a leg last Saturday in the game and yesterday had 9 pins put in it. Tonight he was crowned homecoming king.
The first catch was dropped, the last one wasn't... another one of those nights.

Nice work.. Too bad they could not pull out a win..

Thanks Phil, and yup there is some red in the original, and I am wondering if that was from a reflection off the ambulance lights, it's the only thing I can think of.

I hate to be negative but my boss at the paper (Newark Advocate) shoots with a Canon 1D and his pictures come out golden. You have got motion blur, color inconsistency, White balance issues of some kind. Mike my boss, uses the canon 70-200mm 2.8 and has a 200mm 2.0 or 1.8 I think. That 1D should kick my E500's tail but something is just wrong here. Jump down anf check my post.

Love the action in the last shot.

That poor boy with the broken leg.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

I think if something was really wrong with the 1D the majority of sports photogs wouldn't use them. When my color is off it means I'm off. Also I couldn't shoot night football without some sort of motion blur.

    Tyson,

#1: read the reply to Phil
#2: did it ever occur to you the motion blur was intentionaly done? I for one hate "static, motionless ACTION". Some like it, some do not.
#3: as the action moves the light changes, you can't adjust WB on the fly, especially when your already focused on the subject.

#1 and #3 have little or no bearing on news print, neither does noise for that matter because noise is rarely noticeable in news print unless your shooting at 3200
Another thing to consider is differences in monitors, you may see things others do not due to the calibration of your monitor. My monitor is calibrated to the papers print system so things may look different. I rarely bother worrying about others colors anymore because of that issue.

Oh, btw, the girl in the homecoming shot had some really oddball tan gone wrong which is why she looks so strange.... and yeah, the field is dead.
