    rivals

If you're looking for coverage shots of an event, keep an eye out for things like this.
At le Mans 24h they parked the two tyre suppliers next to each other ...

That way they can keep a close eye on each other. NASCAR does the same with the teams, no closed off garages so everyone see's what everyone else is doing.

Plus with open garages you can sell garage pass tickets to let the fans see the cars !
    I can't see F1 ever doing that.

Last time I went to an F1 race, a garage pass got us on a walkway in front of each garage within a few feet of the cars. Of course it's been a while. It was a guy named Jackie's last race and Emerson won it. Loved the Shadows (a US F1 team!!) and the sound of the BRMs - TF

If it was a US race, and that long ago, things were different.
Now it's over £2000 for the F12 "paddock club".
And you only get a pitlane walk when nothing else is going on.
I think you have to be even more special to get on the grid before the race.
    It's all about ££££ for Bernie's pocket.

NO access during racing unlike NASCAR as I discovered in LV.
It was so laid back at NASCAR, except I didn't have the right pass to get out of pit lane !
