Question on MKIII

So I just got my 1D MKIII and have it mostly setup how I want it. The thing that I can't find in the manual or by searching the web is how to set it to use the * for focusing. I figured someone here knows how to do that.

Doesn't it have a dedicated AF button on the back ?
Yes, see page 82 of your manual.
You'll need a custom function to turn off the shutter half-press AF on function.

That's what confused me. I'm used to my 30D where you just have the one button and set what it does. That did the trick. Thanks.

Yeah new toys are good. I just wish the manual was written a bit clearer. I can't believe how much stuff you can set. It's a bit overwhelming so far. I did find a very handy guide for setting up the autofocus as far as shooting sports goes so that should be very helpful. I'm sort of without my key lens though as my Sigma 70-200 is off to Sigma to be cleaned and checked out so I can sell it. Canon has some very nice instant rebates going in now so I just had to take advantage of that. As soon as I get the 70-200 I'll be taking the new toys back to the indoor soccer arena and having another go at that. I'm sure the results will be much better. I love the Sigma, but it really hunts too much for my liking in low light. I'll definitely post a review as soon as I have a handle on the camera.
