    Pukekohe Bike Racing

Well I'm totally embarrassed to post these but hey, I'm here to learn and from what i've seen on this site, I'll be in excellent hands.

I went earlier in the year to see my nephew race, it was my first ever time at the track and what a day I had, I enjoyed it so much that I'm going back again in a couple of weeks, just wish I could get a better camera before then. It's also a pity that my shots of my nephew actually racing didn't come out, well they did but by the time my little Point-n-Shoot reacted he was long gone and all I was left with was an empty track.

I've been playing round with the photos to try to resize them, I hope this works otherwise I'm going to look really silly

    I wouldnt be embarrassed Swampy.
These will give you a starter to look back on and see how you improve through time. Once you get that new camera things will only get better.

I am sure you will learn a lot on here, just ask and someone will come along with the answer

    Thanks Wull

I'm so keen to get a new camera but over the weekend I've been talked into going to Australia for two weeks holiday in November, so I guess my camera will have to wait. But of course there's always shopping over there too I suppose. Knowing me I'll just bite the bullet and take the plunge because I can be rather impatient when I decide I want to do something.

You're right of course, I'll learn so much on here, the photos that get posted are brilliant and I'm so envious of everyone. So many people, so much TALENT

Swampy, when I started taking race photo's, and yes I learned on bikes, I think I had must have had 100's of photo's of the armco (guradrail) before I got the timing down. If you have a P&S dont try to use the screen for shooting, use the viewfinder. Stick to one spot for a bit and find a spot to start "tracing" the bikes and then shoot, dont worry about blurr for now, just get it in the frame. So glad you are here cant wait to see more from you!
