Posting here can be a painful process!

I just attempted to post nine photos to include numbering of images with comments about some of the photos. After about five failed attempts I gave up. I ran into numerous problems. Twice the images when uploaded were in the reverse order I specified. There appears to be no way to reposition the images after they are uploaded.

Another forum where I post images with comments is child's play compared with this one.

I may try it again after I've cooled down.

I understand your frustration. Don't give up on PR, the new forum upgrades are giving all of us a bit of a fit.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Larry,

This forum needs a good detailed set of instructions for posting images!

Yes I need to learn it too!
I picked two files off my house NAS from the Mac and uploaded them.
    Then attached them.

This is very different to the old forum software!

Clicking on the Attach button (looks rather like a roll of film! but probably meant to be a paperclip on a piece of paper).
The attachment dialog shows previously uploaded images in my "Home"directory.
Not a function that I think is very useful, if it was already attached why do I want to attach it again?

So to add more images- there is a button top right of the upload dialog "Add Images".
Clicking that overlays a "Upload Files from your Computer" dialog on top of the previous dialog.
At the bottom of that new smaller dialog is a "Select Files" button.
Clicking that opens up my Mac Finder, where selecting a file (or files) and clicking the"Open" button doesn't open them.
Instead it adds them to the previously empty list of files in the dialog.
Then click on the "Upload Files" button that's appeared at the bottom of the dialog.
Now the newly uploaded files appear in the "Attachments" section of the bigger dialog.
And right at the bottom of the dialog there is a button "Insert Inline"

And there is the image, inserted inline just where I was typing.
It says [ ATTACH = CONFIG ]90703[ /ATTACH ] if you don't use the "Preview Post" button to preview to see the images.
The number will be different for each attachment.

Last click on the DONE button and we're done!

    Phew!
I was learning that the hard way, exploring as I went.

I suppose I should have used sports images!
So I'll change that image of the inside of a barn to a racing image...
Highlight the while line with the [] codes for the attach.
Then click the "Insert Inline" button and it replaces the old code with the new code.
Save changes and presto there's a car as the last image.

And we enter the twilight zone! The forum controls the horizontal and the vertical.
The image that was inline attached now appears as an old-style image at the end of the posting.
Cue twilight zone theme tune ...

Love your post Paul. I think it says it all. My head is still spinning over the new forum upload procedure.

Sorry about the confusion guys. I've got a lot on my plate and definitely could have done a better job of making this transition easier. Especially if I was a team instead of just one guy. I'm going to put aside some time to look at this thread and see if we can simplify the photo posting process. There are a lot of benefits with the new system - especially for posting photos. But I agree it is a little confusing. Thanks for hanging in there and continuing to post.
