    Panoramics of my son pitching....

First I apologize for the size. If these are too big I'll take them down.

Nothing too good or special here. Livin asked and so here they are. The top one I used for a graduation flyer and the second one I made a poster of for my son's party.

This one I know is really blown out. I was shooting through chain link on a sunny day that was at a bad angle. The fuzz and glare I was getting from the fence made for impossible shooting conditions. This was at a play-off game and we lost.

This one has better color, but I'm not thrilled with a lot of the shots. Different team and game. This is my son's select team.

jeta, have you thought about combining the exposures? I think these (especially the second one) could make for a cool multi-frame work. Also, if you're shooting from the side, I would go with one shot focus. that way, your Al Servo won't vary like it does from the 1st to the second shot on the second collection.

    edit: like this one.

and you should think about hosting your photos with imageshack.us and then posting the thumbnail so it doesn't take up so much of the page but people can see it bigger if theyjust click on it.

What does combining exposures mean? Sorry.

Is one shot focus something I should be using for sports all of the time or most often?

no, just in specific cases. Al Servo continually tracks the subject, while Al One Shot focuses for the first shot and stays at the same focus during all the shots in the series. if you know your subject is going to be the same distance from you the entire time, it's a good idea to use, so your focus doesn't fluctuate at all like it may with Al Servo.

check the picture for the example of combining exposures.

TY! That makes perfect and obviously something I never thought of.

The second pic of my son isn't supposed to have the first pic repeated twice (the very first two shots). I must have downloaded the wrong pic.

The program I used to stitch these photos was very limiting. There wasn't much room for creativity. What program do you use? Yours are pretty darn amazing.

Jeta that was done for the white sox pitcher hernandez after he got out of a jam vs boston in the alds last year and i think it was one of the best pictures i have ever seen of that kind ... i really prefer the side view over the view from home plate .. shows the pitchers motion alot more... here is the one that was done for the sox ..
    http://www.quast-family.com/gallery/...ElDuque?full=1

above each "motion" was what happened on that pitch ... there is a pic for each pitch he threw to get out of the inning ... just a great pic ...

OMG, my mouth is hanging open! That is if not THE it's one of the most amazing pitching photos I've ever seen. Thank you for showing me this! I'm sending it to my son to see. He's gonna have a cow!

i just used photoshop and blended the layers manually. takes some time and effort, but the end-product is nice.
