    Pano of a double...

I hesitate to post this one, but I really like it.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

Why the hesitaton? I like it.

Turf is a terrible baseball surface in my opinion but, in the PNW it is becoming more and more prevalent. Nice thing is, it makes for clean photos.

    Hi SteelieD,

Great to see another local person here.

My hesitation is a huge issue I have with all white uniforms. Some blow outs. I shoot sports in jpeg and there just doesn't seem a way around it most of the time without underexposing to the max and a whole bunch of ps work.

As for turf I too love the look. It's been a good thing here because this college team would not have played one game yet on their home field. They are able to go to a local facility to play their rainouts which has been every game this season. Gotta love (not) our weather. lol

Good point on the uni's. I plan to shoot a lot of baseball this summer. My son's team wears white pants. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

I hope that we'll play before June! Pretty darn wet lately!

I figure we'll have perfect baseball weather about the time spring football starts. lol

I'm getting ocd over the blown out whites. The football team I shoot for wears a full white uni too. Makes for super blah photos while shooting at night besides all the blow outs. Ahhhhh....

Nice shot Julie. I don't mind a little blow highlights on the white uniforms just part of the game when your shooting like this. What always bugs me on a shot like this is the head is down and you lose all the face. But what do you do, if his head is up at contact he probably misses the ball and you have no shot at all. LOL
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Thanks Larry. The blowouts are an internal battle with me, but I haven't figured it out short of shooting sports raw.

As for the head down for me this is something I like in this photo. This kid has one of the most beautiful swings I've ever seen and that's part of it. We are hopeful he'll get drafted this year.

I had this printed out in a 12x36 and boy did it come out nice.

    Thanks as always Larry!
