    MTBers - rugged iPhone case

    OUTRIDE by mophie

I don't think it will replace a dSLR, but if you have an iPhone you might look at this before getting a GoPro. I hope it fits the iPhone 5 as that's the next one I'm getting, not the 4S

Re: MTBers - rugged iPhone case

Looks like an interesting alternative to a dedicated POV camera. The RoadbikeReview.com and Mtbr.com guys in the office were playing with something like this a while ago. It included a harness of some kind. I'll see if I can find out what it was.

However, as usual, I'm gonna be the one to rain on the camera phone parade. I've taken this up as my own personal crusade. Camera phones are very good now and they're all that most people use. But it's not that much more difficult to carry a point-and-shoot camera with better controls and a real zoom lens. Add an Eye-Fi card or buy one of the new P&S cameras with built-in Wi-Fi and you can even get all the instant sharing benefits of your phone but with a real camera.

This is a great suggestion. I didn't know this was possible with an eye-fi, thanks!

Oh yeah - I have an Eye-Fi card that lives in my point-and-shoot and I almost never use the camera in my iPhone. Almost all of the photos I post to Facebook or Twitter from my phone were shot with my Canon SX230 HS. Here's a link to my Eye-Fi card review if you want to know more.
