Fantastic shots Wull! The single thing I see is maybe putting the focus on his face in #1, but it's not "wrong" the way you have it either; just a style choice. The action shots are wonderful; you've come very far very fast - and it appears your nephew is doing well too! Good for him, let's see him with a big #1 trophy next time!

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.
You are right enough brad, i was kicking myself for not focusing on him instead of the bike. Think it would have been much better.

Been having a go at photoshop recently Here are a few i have come up with which are in no way perfect and not to everyones liking but i was fairly happy with them

Once again Thanks for looking and for the help and advice given

The 2nd one is definitely my favorite. That's awesome - and just the hint of the colored reflection makes it even better. The first one could work fine but it looks like the colors are way over saturated which makes it look a little odd to me.

    Very nice

Very good. They look a bit overprocessed to me. They are a little too contrasty, the shadows are blocked up a bit, and I think there's a bit too much saturation. The overall effect is on the harsh side. Looks like some of them could be sharper, too. Don't get me wrong, though. I've shot plenty of motorcycle racing and I know how hard it is - especially in the lighting you were shooting in.

As for the ones where you desaturated the backgrounds - I would recommend trying to make the overall images look good and leaving the special effects for later. Try to make a great picture that doesn't require any special treatment. If you find you need to do stuff like desaturate the background, it may be that the images aren't strong enough on their own. If it's just a Photoshop exercise, that's fine. But it's always something to consider when you find yourself wanting to do something more than just "optimize" a photo.

Love seeing motorcycle photos here! I got my start in sports photography shooting roadracing. I don't have anything to do with it now. Bicycles took over. But I always get excited when I see bikes on the track. And the smell of race gas makes me really excited

WOW! What awesome shots! Huge improvement very quickly! The second phot in the second set is awesome and the third one in the first set rocks, those are my favorite shots to get. Great pics but keep me posted on your nephews progress too!

    Thanks for the comments.

John, You are right enough, i try my best to get them as good as i can but i am always unhappy with them in one way or another:mad2: . As for the photoshop ones i was just having a wee play to see what could be done. The colours and the sharpness have always been a problem Although i do see some improvments since i started out. I will just keep plugging away and hopefully get them better each time.

Thanks Lori  . I will keep you informed how he gets on.
