    Motorbike pictures (9 Images)

Just back from a test day with my nephew and took over 350 photos
Putting all the tips i have been given on here so far a bit of practice and was pleased with the results. Turned the VR and i think some have turned out a bit sharper than the last ones

Any comments and advice as always appreciated.

They are getting better, though the last one looks a little soft still.

Do you apply any sharpening to the images?
Lightroom applies 25% as standard, and in other programs I usually give one light pass of unsharp mask.
When saving for the forums, I notice that Lightroom gives softer images than doing it by hand in Thumbs+ (my other favourite tool).

As SW stated your doing better One thing you may want to try is not getting too tight, leave a bit more space to the front of the bike. Are you using center spot focus?

    Re: Motorbike pictures (9 Images)

    Thanks for the comments.

I havent done anything to the images PAul. They are straight from the camera. I have piccasa 2 on my computor which has a sharpening feature. I will give that a try.

My camera has three AF area modes. Closest, Dynamic, and Single area. I was using the dynamis. Would i be better trying the Single area mode?

Away with my nephew for the next three days at Donnington, Mallory park then Brands hatch so will have plenty time to practice. I would be grateful of any other things to try before i go.

    Thanks Wull

I'm not sure but I would guess Single Area is = to Center and I was thinking maybe you were in that mode which could throw the focus off a bit.
