    More Girls HS Hockey

I wasn't that happy with these.. the arena seems to have gone cheap with the ice-paint this year, thus creating a much darker ice that doesnt' reflect that good.. but others have said they like the exposure on them...

    2. Through the glass, at least the subject is in focus though the goaltender isn't

Probably done shooting through the glass in our arena after only 2 games in it since the brightness isn't there to help. The best thing though is they pretty much match the exposure of another photographer shooting so I won't complain too much, other than the through the glass.

Sorry I'm just getting to these, I took the weekend off with the family at home. Great action again and I don't see a thing wrong with exposure colors look great.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I think the exposure looks fine. I don't see any problematic motion blur, either. These look extra good when I consider that they were shot at ISO 3200 with the 50D - at least at Web size. I don't think you have any reason to worry. Maybe the ice was brighter last season. But that's just one of those things you can't control, right? Just do what you have to do to get the shot in the conditions provided.

Do you think the darker ice actually helped with the exposure?

Maybe it is making an improvement.. but I don't have anything to go by since I only had the XS at 1600 and 1/400 SS last season.

I still have to get a couple prints to really see how they look, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
