    More Ftiday Night Fun

Last night I had 2 games and only got to shoot the first quarter of game one because I had to be at game 2 by halftime for the homecoming stuff. There was no scoring in game one while I was there, and not much after I left as the home team won 12-6. Game ywo I figured would be a blowout before I got there but the score was only 14-7 which shocked me. I figured at least 24-0 against the home team...Ok, they have 1 win in three years and were playing one of the top teams in the conference. Well the home team must have seen me arrive as they kicked it up a notch and started throwing the ball. One of those was a nice long TD just before the homecoming and went into the halftime trailing 13-14.
It didn't end up pretty though as they lost 54-27

Thanks tufcat that first one was intentional I think. The coach knew I had to bail early as I had to hit another game. He must have figured out I was on the visitors side because that was right in front of me, and it wouldn't be the first time a coach put a play in to get some press I was on the visitors side because of the sun. Nothing like shooting in enemy territory

Very nice color and action on that first game. I know you like the night time John but to me our images just aren't the same when we switch on the flash.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I think the thing here Larry is the uniforms are too darn shinny and this field is waaaay too dark not ti use flash and the uniforms just act like mirrors due to the shine they have. Even if the sun hits these two teams uniforms it does the same thing Both of these teams are using new uniforms. The first game they had the old uniforms so they were fine, the problem there was the sun and shooting from the home side was impossible. They didn't think before building this stadium that the coaches and press box were looking directly into the sun as it sets.

Nice shots JS. Funny you should mention the design of the stadium, one of my local HS has their new field and track built and only lacks the grandstands and concession/locker rooms to have it ready for full time use. The lighting is actually pretty good by HS standards, but the bleachers will be facing the setting sun late in the day. In this case the school board was unable to reach an agreement with the property owner on the other side of the field to obtain enough ground to put them on the other side. Won't bother me that much, but the fans will hate it.

    Thank you Daniel,
As for this stadium, they have plenty of room. If they ever do rebuild it they will flip sides, basically they will keep the home side and just build a new home side and press box as they have at a couple other schools. It will many years before it's fixed, but they have the room to expand all the way around as the district owns a huge tract of land there. They have an elementary school and bus garage on the same land and if needed the farmer across the road said they could buy his field "cheap". This is the ame school that had the fire Labor Day night.

Great shots! Is it just me or does it look like one of the players is blocking one of his own teammates on the right edge of shot #2?

Is that one of those "little things" we need to look out for J.S.?
