    A little hockey & Cyclocross

I had myself a crazy weekend! Saturday I joined with a couple friends & played in an Ironman hockey tournament. 12 min games, no stoppages, 4 skaters + goalie & no subs. My team ended up in 2nd place in our division, and I broke my skate with 5 min left in the game, so it was fun skating with a broke skate frame. I also helped out the tourny by getting some promo shots for the next tourny. All shot with my D300 & 70-200 at around 6400 ISO 1/320th (ish) @ f2.8.

So after getting home at about 1:30AM, I got a couple hours of sleep then Sunday morning drove out to the Cyclocross race I was asked to cover. It started off foggy & cold, turned to an oven in the afternoon, then cooled back down in the evening. Mostly shot with the D300 + 70-200 F2.8 and some with the D2h + 12-24 F4

    Thanks!

The day was wierd since once the fog went away, it started getting REALLY dusty. It came to a point where in certain areas of the course I could only shoot the first few riders, since anyone after that was not really seen because of the dust.

Nice stuff Scott. The D2h is hard to beat if you have enough light. But woe to the photographer that tries to use it when the sun goes down.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Thats one of the reasons (well one of many) that I picked up the D300, I'm still amazed at how the roller hockey pics look noisewise. Though depending on the situation I love the noise of the D2h when I'm shooting at iso 800 or 1600 with it.
