    Just playing around

I was just playing around tonight....in pain, can't sleep and bored....

BTW, the bottom shot was manual focused on the fly. It was with my old 1D when the AF first went out.

Not bad, JS. Some interesting artwork on top, and pretty decent manual focusing on the bottom.

Nice one of the helmets JS. Also very nice 'artwork'. Personally, after awhile I get tired of looking at my pictures in normal ways and like to play myself. Breaks up the monotony.

Very interesting. It's fun to fool around with your photos, but then I never know what to do with them. Love you hurdle shot, very good capture
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: Just playing around

Thanks everyone. The helmet shot bugs me a bit though. The one helmet in the center stands out too much, the color is off due to the light. Oh well, I'll play with PS and fix it some day.
The bottom shot, the color looks fine to me, just as blah as when I took it it was raining and foggy and the sun was pretty much gone, blocked by the woods and bleachers. I was hoping they'd postpone the meet, didn't happen though, lightning all around...except not near the school!

yeah, i didnt mean there was a flaw in your process, I just meant it was a bad day for photos. I actually like the helmet picture for the same reason you don't like it.

    Re: Just playing around

lol, your the third person this week to say to that about the helmet shot...guess I'll leave it alone then I just can't figure out why that ONE lone helmet looks so different from the rest, any other time it's the same color as the rest of them! I have a sneaky suspision though that it was painted with a different batch of paint and the pigment is just enough different that when light hits just right it looks different. I know that's what happened to one race car I used to shoot. One quarter panel was different in photos and it was painted with a different can of paint batch number wise...they repainted the car and everything was fine.

    Re: Just playing around

yeah, it looks like it may have been an older helmet than the rest, as the back riddel pad is also white, compared to the black ones that every other helmet has.

I thought that too but the one to the upper right is the same, yet is the "right" color.

The hurdle shot is great! Like the helmets too. I didn't even notice the middle helmet until I read your post.

The top two look like works of art!
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

I'm still amazed that hurdle shot came out considering the AF was out...whew, I got lucky there! But it does go to show you can get it done without the AF if you try....I took probably 40 shots and got ONE good shot...yikes.
