    I'm bored - girls volleyball

Ok, sorry, I am normally wasting my time either on the the GridironDigest football forum where we yak about about high school football in Indiana or playing Battlefield 2 online. Guess I killed enough online soldiers today and the football forum server crashed and is offline for a couple days. So I'm bored!

Anyway, just like any sport in our county, volleyball gets a bit smashmouthed, and becomes a contact sport of sorts, especially between county rivals.

That shot belongs on the front page of the sports section, JS. I almost spit my water all over my keyboard. That poor girl.

I should have some women's volleyball pictures posted in the near future. I decided to drop hunter's safety education and go to the Volleyball game tonight. I got there late and I was off my game tonight, so I don't think I will have as many postworthy images as before. I should also have some girl's soccer to post tomorrow evening.

they ran a better shot! One that I actually didn't think would come out well, and it came out great....one of those suprise shots. This girl was chasing a ball out of at back of court hit it backwards as she is running and I got it just as the ball hit her forearms. She had her head bent back and the expression is great. I figured they would run that one. They also ran a lousy shot of the coach....

HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great shot, but that poor girl!

Game b4 last a boy broke his leg pretty bad. I haven't wanted to look at the pics too close because I think I was snapping away when he did it.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

Yeah, I tend to mark photos where someone gets injured so I don't send those to the paper. So far I have had one shot run though where there was an injury, and did it ever cause an uproar!
It was a wrestling match and one of our local wrestlers was trying to get to last years state finals when his opponent bit him. I got a shot of it, it's was undeniable, unmistakeable evidence that he was bitten. The kid that did it should have been DQ'd but wasn't, went on to finish 2nd or third in state finals. Whats worse though is the photo clearly shows the officials looking right at the guy bitting him and doing nothing about it.
This year I have more injury shots than any previous year, 2 in the past three weeks. One football, one soccer (girls no less).

I would think a shot of a wrestler biting his opponent would be good for editorial usage. I know fans of that school might not be happy because it proves that the other side cheated. It would also probably get the official in charge of the match in trouble.

The odd part was that weren't upset about the photo it'self, but the fact that the byline said he was being bitten.... I guess the complainers were certain no one would notice their wrestler grimmacing in pain or that the opponent had his mouth on the kids wrist... best part was it was almost a full frame shot so no one could miss it!
It's my number 1 action shot of the year.... sad part is it ran black and white and on page 3! That would have been an award winning photo but the staff photog doesn't like me, or being showed up by me...he's a touchy bugger!

JS, that is scarily too Mike Tyson. If one of my boys did something like that, they know I'd pull them faster then fast.
